Category and Sub-category
State Code of Eligibility
Subject-wise NTA Scores (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
Total NTA Score (Percentile)
All India Rank (AIR) and Category Rank
Qualifying Status for JEE Advanced 2026
Since the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the examination in multiple shifts and over several days, the difficulty level of papers may vary. To ensure fairness, NTA uses a Normalization Procedure. The NTA scores are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination in one session. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
The 100 percentile indicates that the candidate has performed better than or equal to 100% of the candidates in that specific shift. This ensures that no candidate is at a disadvantage due to a tougher question paper.
Based on initial analysis and the difficulty level of the April session, experts suggest the following expected cutoff percentiles to qualify for JEE Advanced 2026:
General (UR): 91 - 93 Percentile
EWS: 76 - 78 Percentile
OBC-NCL: 74 - 76 Percentile
SC: 52 - 55 Percentile
ST: 38 - 40 Percentile
Please note that these are expected trends. The official cutoff will be released by the National Testing Agency along with the final result today. You can download the official notification regarding cutoffs here: Download Official Cutoff PDF.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) usually releases the Final Answer Key a few hours before or simultaneously with the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Result. The final answer key is prepared after considering all the challenges raised by students against the provisional key. No further grievances are entertained once the final key is out, as it forms the basis of the final scorecard calculation.
The All India Merit List is prepared by taking the best of the two NTA scores (if a candidate appeared in both January and April sessions). If a candidate appeared in only one session, that score is considered final for ranking.
Once the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Result is out, the next steps are:
JEE Advanced 2026 Registration: The top 2,50,000 successful candidates will be eligible to register for the JEE Advanced exam for admission into IITs.
JoSAA Counselling: Candidates who do not qualify for Advanced or prefer NITs/IIITs will participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process.
CSAB Special Rounds: For vacant seats in GFTIs and NITs, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) conducts special rounds.
